Pony thought this was nice – and thinks I don’t do enough landscape shots! Like zombies the peregrinos march. “Compostela… Compostela” is all they moan… Thought this was an ANCIENT column. Then figured=out Roman numerals at bottom. 1965 does NOT make THIS ancient… Yes, peregrino – visit the LITTLE churches along The Way in your quest for the BIG cathedral at Santiago… Modern Pilgrim Pony Poses with Past Peregrino Not sure if this was a tribute to peregrinos – or a “scare peregrino” for the crops Available for a night’s stay at an albergue at Villamentro de Campos In keeping with a teepee, there are two turkeys on the property. Don’t think anyone has told him being “guest of honor” at Thanksgiving is NOT a GOOD thing for him. Not sure this turkey is aware that being self-serving is NOT a talent it wants to develop… Pony likes… First lizard to pose for a pix since Molokai Sunflowers. Green grass. Blue skies. Fluffy clouds. Now if someone hadn’t dropped a phone wire in the middle of it all… Carrion de los Condes Do we REALLY look like this? Church of Santa Maria, Carrion de los Condes. We were asked not to photograph closer. One of US! The scallop shell is a symbol of The Camino de Santiago de Compostela. What the fish spitting water there has to do with it, I don’t know… Former church, now the museum at Carrion de los Condes. The waiter delivered this with SUCH a flourish (all the stranger, since for what one pays for the “peregrino menu,” we’re lucky he just doesn’t shovel it into a trough), I just HAD to take a picture. This guy takes PRIDE in his work!
